This Pillars course is the sequel to Foundations with advanced topics on serving communities through creativity in multiple contexts.

Pillars students explore the arts through a theological and Spirit-guided lens, learning practical ways of ministering through the arts in secular settings and sacred settings, both inside and outside of local churches. Our video-based instruction is taught by seasoned art ministers and faculty. Students study the material and interact within the Pillars community through discussions inside the course.

If you would like to be certified in the Pillars of Art Ministry, complete 1000 points of material inside the Pillars course.

You will be invited into focused Zoom discussions with Jessie Nilo and other Pillars staff that we hold on the 3rd Tuesday evenings every month. Zoom sessions are optional to attend and are not required for Pillars Certification. (8PM Eastern Time, USA / 7PM Central / 6PM Mountain / 5PM Pacific)

Jessie Nilo is the founder and main instructor of GodLovesArt.com. Jessie founded an arts ministry at her church in Boise, Idaho in 2004 which she directed for 16 years. She loves to help people shape spiritual and creative connection to God and each other. Jessie says you can boil down art ministry to \"two or three people at a fireplace, talking about art and Jesus.\" She teaches the value of starting small and listening to God's direction, and has equipped hundreds of art ministers with the practical tools they need to succeed in art ministry. Jessie contributed to The Creative Church Handbook by J. Scott McElroy which released on IVP (InterVarsity Press, 2015). One of her passions is painting live on stage at contemporary performances with world-renowned musicians. Jessie delights in creating as an act of worship to the Lord, both inside and outside of churches.
